About the event
The program kicks off with Ignaz Brüll's passionate Piano Trio in E flat major, which will be followed by Alfred Grünfeld's more light-hearted Kleine Serenade for violin and piano. Two pieces by composers whose music was silenced by the Holocaust will follow: Gideon Klein's Duo for Violin and Viola, flaunting the composer's dive into a microtonal sound world, and Erwin Schulhoff's Melodie for violin and piano, which the composer wrote at the age of 9. Gustav Mahler's Piano Quartet, his most well-known piece of chamber music, will conclude the program.
The concert is organized by the Society for the History of Czechoslovak Jews with support of the Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association.
